James Nisbet, Head of Secondary Loan Trading
James joined HSBC in June 2004 to establish emerging market loan trading as part of the existing and well established secondary loan trading operation set up in 1998. Based in London, he is currently responsible for the Group's proprietary loan trading activities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining HSBC, James spent four years at The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. where he established and ran their primary and secondary distribution team. He has also worked at Bank One and The Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank Limited in Syndications, after having started his career on a graduate training scheme at NatWest in 1994.
Andrew Owen, Director
Andrew joined HSBC in September 2004, bringing with him over 15 years of experience of the international syndicated loans market.
He joined from National Australia Bank where he worked for over seven years in the Loan Syndication group. Prior to that, he worked for Banco di Sicilia and Banque Nationale de Paris in London and dealt with all aspects of Corporate Banking and the primary and secondary European loan markets.
Andrew's current responsibilities include trading of high yield/leverage loans.
Christine Cox, Associate
Christine's career with the HSBC Bank spans over 30 years, having originally joined the International Division of Midland Bank in 1973.
She gained wide-ranging experience of the loans agency and administration aspects of the sovereign and corporate syndicated loan markets in her first role within the syndicated loans area of Midland in 1978. Since then, she has performed many roles and has developed an extensive knowledge of the syndicated loan market.
In January 2000 Christine joined the loans agency within HSBC Investment Bank where she was responsible for the daily administration of the Secondary Loan Portfolio.
In April 2001 she transferred to the Secondary Loan Trading team where she is currently responsible for the closing of trades, documentation, trading support and maintenance of the PC database and trading system.
Nimita Patel, Associate
Nimita joined the team in June 2006 as a Settlement/Desk Assistant having previously worked in the Agency department at HSBC. Her responsibilities include trading support to the Head of Secondary Loan Trading and closing of trades/documentation.
