HSBC Global Banking and Markets operations around the world
India
HSBC’s operations in India can be traced back to 1853 when the Mercantile Bank of India, which the HSBC Group acquired in 1959, was first established in Bombay (now Mumbai). The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, the commercial banking arm of the Group in India, has 45 branches spread across 24 cities in India.
In India, we offer a complete suite of products and services for corporate and institutional clients. Our investment, transaction and treasury services bring together the advisory and financing, equity securities, asset management, treasury and capital markets, and private equity activities of the Group to provide a complete range of financial products to our clients. Increasingly, Export Credit Agency (ECA) financing is being considered by customers and we work closely with our project export finance teams, both onshore and offshore, to provide structured solutions.
