GoCustody and Clearing in Kuwait
HSBC launched sub-custody and clearing services to foreign investors in Kuwait in October 2005, when the market first opened to foreign investors. HSBC has been one of the first beneficiaries to receive the banking licence making HSBC the only international bank providing sub-custody services in 10 markets in the Middle East. Being part of HSBC's worldwide Custody and Clearing network, our operation in Kuwait are able to draw upon the Custody and Clearing's regional support infrastructure and global systems expertise. HSBC enjoys close working relationship with the market regulators and has been able to pioneer several market initiatives including the pre-funding exemption for foreign institutional investors and receipt of sale proceeds on a rolling T+2 basis.
