What technology does HSBC's Custody and Clearing offer?
HSBC's technology infrastructure is designed - and being continuously developed - to interface easily with our customers' needs and systems. Our securities processing system was developed as part of our in-house core banking system, and HSBCnet, HSBC's Web-based delivery platform, and uses a common platform, layouts and interface protocols in order to talk to other HSBC Group banking systems, such as foreign exchange, cash accounts, trade services and credit systems. The system provides full support for securities settlement, registration, corporate actions, cash settlement, remittances and reconciliation. All our centres are integrated into the SWIFT network, offering a range of MT500 message types. Our system also utilises Hexagon, the HSBC Group's real-time electronic banking system which customers can use to place instructions or access their portfolio data.
