On 20 March 2007, HSBC received approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) to incorporate locally in mainland China.  The new entity, HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited (“HSBC China”), a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC, will continue to offer a comprehensive range of sub-custody services in the mainland China including Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors (QDII) custody services for local qualified institutions.

In mainland China, HSBC has a well-established local network and we maintain close contact with all major regulatory bodies, including the People's Bank of China, the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges.
