Summer Analyst Programme
The HSBC Summer Analyst Programme
Who can apply
Our Summer Analyst Programme is open to students in their penultimate year of university study (graduating in 2014). The programme acts as a talent pipeline for our business. Perform well throughout the summer and you could end up with an offer to join the Global Analyst Induction Programme when you've completed your degree.
What to expect
The HSBC Summer Analyst Programme lasts for 10 weeks and is designed for ambitious penultimate year university students. The programme, for the most part, takes place in our main hubs: London, New York, Hong Kong and Dubai. Our opportunities cover all areas of Global Banking, Global Markets, Global Research, Global Markets Operations, Finance, Compliance, HTS GBM Technology, HSBC Securities Services, Global Asset Management and Global Private Banking.
Whichever discipline you choose, the programme will act as a comprehensive introduction to the part of HSBC you join. You'll have opportunity to gain an understanding of our industry and your chosen business area. It's also a chance for HSBC to get to know the future leaders of the bank.
What we offer
From day one you'll be a valued team member. We'll encourage you to take the initiative and to be proactive as you gain exposure to real life projects in a fast-paced environment. You'll have time to build your skills and experience by working with specialists in your chosen business areas. During your 10 weeks, you'll benefit from a combination of on-the- job experience, learning activities and social events.
Our support network
Your line manager will support you throughout the programme. We'll also assign you a dedicated buddy, who's experienced our graduate programme, and a Graduate Recruiter for added guidance. Regular events and social activities will also encourage your development and allow you to gain more insight into the Bank's business areas. And, getting to know your fellow Summer Analysts and colleagues will help you build your own professional network.
Your opportunities
The HSBC Summer Analyst Programme acts as an extended assessment centre for students who want to join the 2014 Full-time Global Analyst Induction Programme (GAIP). You'll have the opportunity to show your potential and genuine motivation for HSBC and your interest in the business area you've chosen. We want you to be in a position to develop the behaviours, skills and experience essential to a long-term career with us.
Joined-up development
The Summer Programme will act as an introduction to the culture and values of HSBC. Your programme will combine hands-on experience, technical and behavioural skills training and the opportunity to build strong networks with peers and business leaders alike.
