Pre-university programmes for early insight

The banking and financial services sectors can seem complex and unfriendly. That's why HSBC is working with students and schools to help educate them about our organisation and the opportunities that exist for sixth formers and beyond.

Unlocking the door
HSBC is partnering with Bright Network and Head Start Careers to raise awareness of our industry, educate young people about our business, present skills sessions and offer work experience opportunities.

Recruitment processes can be daunting, so we're working with The Brokerage Citylink (a not-for-profit organisation) to provide students from inner city London schools with the soft skills they need to apply for roles and make the most of work experience opportunities. We also present case studies and business overview sessions to help young people see the career paths that could be open to them.

An Insight into HSBC
This one-day event sponsored by our Balance Network will provide participants with an insight into our core business areas. It offers students the opportunity to meet industry professionals and learn about our organisation first-hand. The schedule has been carefully structured to allow maximum exposure to the HSBC culture and our people through interactive presentations and networking sessions.

To apply for this event, send your CV and a covering letter telling HSBC why you would like to take part to diversity.recruitment@hsbc.com. Please ensure that you mention the event title (An Insight into HSBC) in the subject line. The application deadline is 10 July 2013.

Our specialist recruitment team will review your application and will be in touch with you in July 2013. Please note, this programme is aimed at sixth form or college students studying either A Levels or International Baccalaureate. The event is taking place on 24 July 2013.
