Every day is a highlight for me at HSBC because every day is new and fresh, and you never know what ad hoc client requests will come up along the way.
I chose Relationship Management because I love working with people. Being in Relationship Management means I am a point of contact between the client and the bank, so I must be able to understand the client needs and collaborate with different departments in order to provide a holistic solution for the client.
I cannot say for sure where I'll be in five years but I'm sure HSBC will provide the support I need to achieve what I want to achieve. With the mobility within HSBC I may be working in another department or another country altogether.
As a Global Relationship Manager, we look after multinational corporate clients and it is important that we can provide a consistent solution across the globe for them and that we are able to support them wherever they operate, so our global connectivity allows us to do exactly that.
I worked with a company that is listed on the London Stock Exchange. What we did with the client is understand how they currently operate and we provided them with cash management solutions, liquidity solutions and collection solutions so that they could reduce their costs and operate more efficiently. This is a way to show that HSBC is the future of banking because we have the global connectivity. We are present in the places where they operate, not only in London where they are headquartered but in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and everywhere else. That's why we are able to provide a global payment and cash management solution to the client.
I joined HSBC because I was born and raised in Hong Kong. HSBC is also known as the Hong Kong bank and everyone in Hong Kong is in some way connected to HSBC and is very much emotionally attached to HSBC. Another reason I joined HSBC is that after my internship in the Global Banking Management Office I found HSBC had a really team oriented culture which I wanted to be a part of.
It is great to live and work here in Hong Kong because Hong Kong is a very vibrant city with a vibrant night life and a lot of good food. It is a melting pot of different cultures and because it is so densely populated it means that everything is easily accessible and just on your doorstep.
HSBC is the future of banking because of its global connectivity, its strong brand equity and strong balance sheet. Global connectivity means we can provide consistent solutions to clients wherever they are in this world, and we can provide support to them wherever they are.
