Greg enjoys working at HSBC especially because of the opportunities to travel and work in rotations for a much broader approach to his career.

The industry as a whole is changing, with greater regulation, more transparency and becoming a more global business. HSBC is very well-positioned, located in many countries, especially the emerging markets. We have great capital reserves, we're very well positioned compared to our competition in terms of future regulatory changes. I believe this is why HSBC is very well situated when looking at the future of banking.

I joined HSBC because I took part in the summer internship programme which they offered. I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on the graduate programme which enabled me to focus on my studies and my final year at university.

The reason I chose the Operations graduate scheme is that it consists of four rotations. This enables me to see the operations area as a whole and have more rounded experience in that area. I'm currently halfway through my second rotation and really looking forward to my next rotation, which is a change rotation where we look after a project from start to finish and see its impact on the business.

In my current role, I deal with a number of contacts across the globe. We draw on their knowledge and expertise to help us overcome a number of challenges we face on a daily basis. The future of the investment banking industry is constantly changing. The emerging markets will become leading economies in the future, and the fact that HSBC has been in some of these economies for some years now gives them such a competitive advantage.

The most exciting piece of work I've been a part of since joining HSBC was my first rotation in foreign exchange trade support. I really enjoyed this because we faced a number of challenges on a daily basis and our role involved looking at the trade process from front to back. It increased my global network of contacts as we dealt with traders and sales in a number of different countries.

Before I joined HSBC, I knew that we were in more than 80 different countries but I didn't realise how much of my day-to-day role would actually be spent talking to a number of our colleagues across the globe.

I really like the culture here at HSBC. It's very diverse, very team-orientated and very hard-working. My colleagues here at HSBC are like-minded and down-to-earth people; we have a great team spirit and are very hard-working.

During my time at HSBC I wish to gain a high level of understanding in my field. HSBC also offers the very real opportunity of being able to travel, which is something I want to do in my career.

Being born in London, of course I'm going to say it's one of the best cities in the world. It just so happens to be one of the biggest financial centres as well.
