Leveraged and Acquisition Finance
The Leveraged and Acquisition Finance (LAF) team arranges and underwrites debt to finance event-driven corporate transactions (i.e. acquisitions), infrastructure transactions and leveraged buyouts by private equity clients as well as corporate flow business for investment grade borrowers. This debt comes in the form of bank loans, bridge loans, working capital facilities and the issue of high-yield bonds. HSBC is a market leader in this type of financing across most of the Group's main markets. As part of the LAF team, our graduates will gain exposure to some of the most high profile and complex financing transactions globally.
What we offer
The graduate programme covers all aspects of debt financing from origination to structuring to sales and syndication, and will comprise rotations covering key areas of the business: Origination, Sales and Syndication. You'll have a unique vantage point and gain wide-ranging experience. This is a risk focused environment which supports the financing needs of our core clients. You will work to an often pressurised transaction timetable alongside other groups within HSBC including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Advisory and Commercial Banking.
Origination
As an Analyst, you will develop financial modelling, credit analysis and legal documentation skills. You'll learn how to evaluate propositions, structure debt products and negotiate with clients. Your core development will be through working in the two main divisions of our business: Origination and Sales and Syndication.
Working with us
You'll be part of different client focused teams working on international and cross-border transactions. You'll learn how to structure complex debt products including bespoke 'event' financings, high-yield bonds and bridges into other capital products and guide our clients through the applications and implications of the various options.
