Security upgrade for all Hang Seng HSBCnet Smart Card Users

As part of our on-going commitment to continuously strengthening Hang Seng HSBCnet online security, we are implementing changes to the HSBCnet logon process. These changes will provide better online protection and help prevent future online fraud attacks.

Effective from 19 February 2013, you will be required to log on to Hang Seng HSBCnet using your Smart Card. Smart Card profile users who fail to authenticate using their valid Smart Card after 19 February 2013, will be suspended and will not be able to use Hang Seng HSBCnet Services without further notice.

If your Smart Card has expired, please renew your Smart Card with the instructions below:

Initial System Administrator
· To renew an existing Smart Card, obtain the "Smart Card replacement form" by calling the HSBCnet Help Desk at (852) 2198-8000 and submit the completed form to the Bank.

All other HSBCnet Users
· Please kindly contact your System Administrator to renew your Smart Card
· System Administrator will need to submit the order via the Smart Card renewal function on HSBCnet

Please note: Smart Card renewal may take up to 10 working days to process.

To facilitate the Smart Card renewal process, for profiles with ACTIVE Users and EXPIRED Smart Cards, we will be contacting your System Administrator(s) by mail and phone between January and February 2013.

For help transitioning to our new security procedures and requirements, please contact your local Hang Seng HSBCnet Help Desk at (852) 2198-8000.
