HSBC recognised for online banking innovation

HSBC wins ten Global Finance Awards in the 'Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank' category.

Winning banks were selected on the basis of the strength of their strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting customers to use web offerings, growth of their online customer base, breadth of products offered, evidence of tangible benefits gained from internet initiatives and website design and functionality.

HSBC won five first round country-specific 'Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank' Awards in Brunei, France, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and United Kingdom.

In addition, HSBC also won the following five regional Awards:

  • Best Website Design (Asia Pacific)
  • Best Integration Corporate Bank Site (Asia Pacific)
  • Best Information Security Initiatives (Asia Pacific)
  • Best Website Design (Middle East and Africa)
  • Best Trade Finance (Centre and Eastern Europe)

The final round will be held in New York in November, when the Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank Awards will be announced.
