HSBC wins six major FX Week Awards

HSBC has performed impressively in this year's FX Week Awards winning six awards overall, including two of the three emerging markets categories and dominating the number of top nominations received from Corporates in the survey. HSBC was one of only three banks to win six awards and, overall, HSBC won 22 top nominations from the Corporates, Banks and Investors who were surveyed, six more than our nearest competitor.

HSBC won the following top awards:

  • Best Bank for FX for Corporates
  • Best Bank for FX in Asia-Pacific
  • Best Bank for Emerging Asian Currencies
  • Best Bank for Emerging EMEA Currencies
  • Best Bank for Forward FX
  • Best Bank for FX Research and Strategy

In commenting on the awards, FX Week said "HSBC has retained pole position as the pre-eminent bank in Asia-Pacific, while also scooping up accolades as the best dealer in emerging Asian currencies and EMEA currencies."

While winning the overall categories for Best Bank for FX for Asia-Pacific, for Emerging Asian Currencies and for Emerging EMEA Currencies, HSBC also came top of all the customer groups in these three categories, winning the most votes from Banks, Corporates and Investors. For the final emerging markets category, HSBC came third in the 'Best Bank for Emerging Latin American Currencies'.

Within the survey of Corporates, HSBC dominated the results amongst this customer group winning 15 top nominations while the nearest competitor won only five top nominations. In addition to winning the overall category for 'Best Bank for FX for Corporates', HSBC came top amongst Corporates for:

  • Best Bank for Spot FX
  • Best Bank for Forward FX
  • Best Bank for FX Prime Brokerage
  • Best Bank for FX in London
  • Best Bank for FX in Asia-Pacific
  • Best Bank for Euro/Dollar
  • Best Bank for Dollar/Yen
  • Best Bank for Euro/Yen
  • Best Bank for Dollar/Sterling
  • Best Bank for Euro/Sterling
  • Best Bank for Emerging EMEA Currencies
  • Best Bank for Emerging Asian Currencies
  • Best Bank for Emerging Latin American Currencies
  • Best Bank for FX Research and Strategy

This year, the FX Week Awards attracted votes from over 4,800 respondents from banks, corporates and investors.
